Joni Aaltonen, former CEO of private healthcare service provider Pihlajalinna and CFO of technology company Plenware, joins Silo AI as VP, Growth and Strategy to spearhead the company's ambitious M&A and growth plans.
In the past five years Silo AI has organically grown to be one of Europe’s largest private AI labs with more than 240 employees. As a partner to many industry-leading AI initiatives, Silo AI's team with more than 120 PhD-level AI experts is one of the largest in Europe. With several groundbreaking initiatives and global expansions, most recently the launch of SiloGen and expansion to Canada with the opening of an office in Vancouver, B.C., Silo AI is accelerating its growth.
To further fuel these growth and expansion activities, M&A veteran Joni Aaltonen is joining the ranks at Silo AI as VP Growth and Strategy. In line with the earlier announced partnership between Silo AI and Altor Equity Partners on international expansion and M&A, Aaltonen will provide decades of experience in steering through rapid growth and M&A.

Joni Aaltonen has most recently served as the CEO of Pihlajalinna, a private health care service provider. During his time at Pihlajalinna in various roles such as CFO, COO and Head of M&A, the company grew from 16 million to 700 million euros in revenue. Joni Aaltonen spearheaded many mergers and acquisitions as well as growth projects while at Pihlajalinna. In addition, he has been involved in Mediware, Descom and VMP Group's IPO and acquisition of Smile Personnel Services. Before Pihlajalinna, Joni served as CFO in scaling technology company Plenware before its acquisition by Cybercom.
