First AI Accelerator enters the Nordic stage to accelerate the development of AI-driven products

  • July 6, 2021

From the very beginning, we at Silo AI have been focusing on building AI for people – creating a positive impact with AI technologies empowering humans, companies and society as a whole. Since 2018, we’ve worked as Finland’s Growth Engine for the AI Ecosystem, supported by Business Finland. One of our key ecosystem initiatives has been Finland’s AI Accelerator, which we are today launching on the Nordic level as the First AI Accelerator.

Through the expansion Silo AI aims to bring the current services that the First AI Accelerator (FAIA) is offering – helping established companies taking their first steps with AI-driven products – to other Nordic countries. In addition, one of the first concrete activities will be a new Nordic State of AI-report that is scheduled to be released later this year together with other ecosystem partners.

Tero Ojanperä, Executive Chairman and co-founder of Silo AI comments:

“Being a key member has been central to everything we do at Silo AI. We believe that in order to achieve far-fetching goals with the help of AI, people, companies and organisations need to learn the basics of developing AI-driven products. The goal with our ecosystem activities is to educate professionals to leverage AI technologies in their work. Industry, or size of the company, does not matter.”

Together with its partner Technology Industries of Finland, Silo AI has previously been offering organisations various reports, guides and company wide training programs such as the Basics of AI-program, a curriculum aimed for established companies to better understand the possibilities of AI.

Alexander Törnroth, Silo AI’s Ecosystem Lead who leads FAIA’s operations comments on the expansion:

“As the number of companies that have gone through our accelerator now total more than 50, we have decided to expand our activities to other Nordic countries in order to support the growing need to accelerate scaling AI across a variety of industries. As the market matures, we have decided to focus on helping smaller, more traditional organisations with their questions and doubts. It is not an easy task, but as the segment is somewhat overlooked it seems that this is the right place to direct our ecosystem activities.”

To better reflect our Nordic focus, the AI Accelerator is known as of now as the First AI Accelerator, while still being able to keep its acronym FAIA. FAIA continues to be Silo AI’s contribution to the local AI ecosystems, and we aim to continue to be inclusive as we welcome everyone to join and share experiences and lessons learned. These activities include:

  • Free online learning sessions, webinars and ebooks
  • Accelerator programs covering the basics of AI on an organisational level
  • Market analysis and the Nordic State of AI report.

Would you be interested in collaborating with FAIA, or perhaps discuss the Basics of AI training program for your organisation? Get in touch with Alexander Törnroth at alexander.tornroth@silo.ai to learn more.
