AMD Silo AI and appliedAI Initiative GmbH announce today an expansion of their strategic partnership with a program to accelerate AI deployment in life sciences, robotics and automotive across Germany. AMD Silo AI and appliedAI, Europe's largest initiative for trustworthy AI operated as a joint venture with IPAI Heilbronn and UnternehmerTUM, are combining their expertise to address critical technical barriers that prevent organizations from moving AI applications from proof-of-concept to production deployment on AMD compute platforms.

With an initial focus on selected value driving use cases, the partners aim to scale the appliedAI Acceleration Program for Life Sciences, Robotics & Automotive to provide German organizations with specialized technical expertise, industry-specific AI models, and implementation support tailored to the unique requirements of these high-growth sectors.

Empowering organizations to build production-grade AI solutions, the program leverages AMD Silo AI's deep technical capabilities, their ongoing collaboration with world-class model builders like Aleph Alpha, Mistral AI and NXAI, and AMD's leadership compute platforms, to enable real-world AI deployment at scale.

"Germany leads on many fronts in life sciences innovation and industrial automation, yet many organizations struggle to operationalize state-of-the-art AI beyond initial experiments," said Peter Sarlin, Co-Founder and CEO, AMD Silo AI. "The expansion of our partnership with appliedAI allows us to drive AI R&D on AMD compute platforms on these specific verticals. By combining our technical capabilities with appliedAI's expertise to AI-driven value creation across Germany, we're addressing the complexities that have slowed development and deployment of AI in these domains. We're excited to work with appliedAI, whose network includes industry leaders like Siemens and SAP, to bring our joint expertise to the broader DACH market."

The program delivers targeted technical resources focused on practical implementation, including:

  • Industry-specific AI model development optimized for specialized applications in drug discovery, medical imaging, and beyond
  • Customized AMD compute platform configurations supporting both cloud and on-premise deployments
  • Technical enablement workshops and direct engineering support from AI experts
  • Structured frameworks and methodologies for transitioning from a proof-of-concept to production-grade AI systems

"Our work with German enterprises has identified clear patterns in what prevents successful AI experiments from reaching production," said Dr. Andreas Liebl, CEO and Founder of appliedAI. "This expanded collaboration and proposition possibility with AMD Silo AI directly addresses these barriers by combining our industry knowledge with their technical expertise in these compute-intensive domains. Together, this new component in our appliedAI partnership program is a strong offer for AI deployment and making it a practical reality for German industry."

The partnership expansion strengthens AMD Silo AI's presence in the DACH region and complements its work with leading industrial networks across Europe, including its recent collaboration with Combient serving major Nordic enterprises like AstraZeneca, Ericsson, H&M and IKEA.
