The multinational technology company Huawei and the Nordic AI service and solution provider Silo AI are today announcing their collaboration on joint AI solution offering. The two companies provide advanced computer vision solutions by leveraging Silo Operating Software (Silo OS) on top of Huawei’s Atlas AI Computing Platform, suited for scalable edge AI deployments. The state-of-the-art AI solutions are able to leverage several web cameras, security cameras or infrared cameras, and analyze the data on-device to ensure data security and privacy. With Silo AI’s expertise in edge AI combined with Huawei’s platform, end-clients are able to access customizable computer vision capabilities easier than ever before.
A concrete example of a solution that Huawei and Silo AI have produced is an on-premise computer vision solution that deals with privacy-preserving indoor analytics, such as applications for shopping center, office and other real estate analytics. In its strictest privacy mode, the Silo OS solution on top of the Atlas Computing Platform analyzes camera streams on site, and stores only fully anonymized statistics of detected events. One such application helps shopping centers and other property owners to oversee indoor activities like the percentage of people wearing masks and the average distance between visitors.

Silo OS is a joint collection of AI components and systems designed to significantly reduce the risk, cost, and time to results in AI solution development. Examples of previous projects relying on Silo OS include computer vision tooling for sewage pipe analysis robots, quality control in manufacturing processes and autonomous vessels and vehicles. Huawei and Silo AI are now co-operating with mutual interest to bring Silo OS capabilities now to Huawei’s platform to speed up both the development and onboarding of these AI solutions.
